He also told me their was about one Hundred & thirtyfine
of this Tribe, and by the best information about Sixty of
the Cayugas, for which I took them one third of all the
goods Contained in said Cask & Box so set of about 2
Oclock in the afternoon Traveling 10 miles over Several
Mountains, arrived about 9 oclock at a privet House,
Carpenter by Name, took Lodging on the Floor from then
ce to Henry Moors, where was good accommodations
20 Miles, thence to Fradrick Gearhearts 7 Miles, and
2 ½ from the Indian Settlements, whom I was recomm
ended too as an Interpretter, I spent the remainder of the
Day, accompanied by this man, in visiting the
Indian Hutts, & writing, and found but two women
them Planting Corn, Some where gone one way Some ano-
ther, & very uncertain when they would return, for wh
ich I was streightened about it, but believing it best
to Leave the Impliments in Gearhearts care untill they came
Home, in the Morning came two of their Chief women
and I Shewed them all the Tools & told them they were
