Notes: Son of William Griscom, born in New Jersey in 1774. Schoolteacher and librarian of the Burlington Library. Married the daughter of John Hoskins in 1800 and moved to New York CIty. Became a Professor of Chemistry. Moved to Rhode Island and maried Rachel Denn. Died in 1852, aged 77.
