prevent our having his company
but believ’d it would be best for us
to set off tomorrow morning, for
we wish’d to spend a few days with
our friends in Canada, & in seven
days hoped we could meet him at
Buffaloe, where he said he in-
tended to be on that day, if the
state of his family would permit
a guide was accordingly provided
who engaged to call on us tomorrow
morning by sun rise. A heavy
