were going with him to Buffaloe, who
were not fully ready, but would
call on us tomorrow; this informa-
tion was more than we expected, &
was satisfactory as it was wet & by
no means fit to travel through the
bushes.

The sun made its appearance
this morning, & there is some prospect
of a pretty pleasant day for travelling
not knowing what minuet Cornplanter
& his companions would call on us, we
felt our minds baptized with the
prospect of a separation, & sat down
together to take a parting opportunity,
it was an endearing time of retirement
wherein the canopy of divine love
