us on horse back, the rest on foot, who
were going to Niagara with Skins
& Mockaions. After we had
travelled about 10 miles up the river
along a very difficult & disagreeable
path, we called at an Indians Ca-
bin, where they gave us some
dinner & fed our horses, from then
ce we proceeded through the entire
ly uninhabited Wilderness, along
a very intricked & tiresome path
about Sunset we encampt in the
midst of the desolate Woods with-
out any cover over our heads, we
fed our horses with a little Oats,
& let them loose in the woods to
provide for themselves. the Indi-
ans mean time made fire, and
