given by one of the Sub Committee that the School
Com has been of latter time discontinued in consequence
of the small number of Scholars at this season of
the year and other circumstances. The Committee
taking the subject into consideration it appeared to be
desirable that a suitable friend should be engaged
to open a School amongst them the ensuing spring
& that in selecting him attention should be given
to his qualifications to furnish them advice &
assistance in their agricultural & other concerns;
& it was concluded to appoint a Committee to enquire
for a friend of this description either single or
having a family as should appear to them expedient,
& the following friends were appointed to the service
to wit- James Mott

Gideon Seaman, Jn Murray
& Thomas Willis.
