took us in, he lives in a very
Elegant House Building which after riding
5 or 6 Miles without seeing scarcely a house:
to see such a Supurb one rising
in the Woods begot admiration.

2nd day 23

a pleasant Morning, set of[f]
for Canadarque

, the road mostly throu gh
the Woods, and in places deep, stoped an[d]
fed at Gilberts 8 miles, in 5 miles farther
we came on the bank of Canadarque
Lake, which was enlivening, and look
ed beautiful thence up the side of the Lake
to the place where it ran out of its outlet which stream
was as Large as a pretty Creek Clever Creek
