Notes: Born in Philadelphia in 1798, the son of Jonathan Evans Jr. and Hannah Bacon Evans. Recommended to the ministry in 1844, but travelled little because of poor health. One of the founders of the Haverford School Association. Appointed to PYM Indian Committee. Married Catharine Wistar in 1834 at Salem Meeting. Died in 1868.
