Notes: Sea captain. Born in Massachusetts in 1759, the son of John Cuffe, an Ashanti, and Ruth Moses, of Wampanoag descent. Married to Alice Pequit, also a Wampanoag, in 1783. Became a member of the Society of Friends in 1808 and then a minister. Died in 1817 in Westport, Massachusetts, at the age of 59 years.
