Brothers
We know how far you have come to see us;
it is a great way, from the Sea shore, where our fore-
fathers once lived, The white people have cheated us
& got our Land from us, & now we have but little
left, & we will try to learn your way.

Brothers
You know there are some bad people
among us, & you know we have been cheated and
that makes us bad, & our minds uneasy, if we had not
been cheated, we should have been very rich people
& had plenty of every thing, & then our minds would
be easy, and we could think upon the good Spirit.

Brothers,
The reason I mention to you about our
being cheated, some of my warriors wont mind what
I say to them, but will have their own way, because
they know I have been often cheated by the white
people: If I had never been cheated, then my warri
ors would believe me, & mind what I say to them.
but now they wont mind.
