when the first went there, as the con-
sideration therein mention’d for their
labour they apprehended at too great a
distance, it being such a share of what
was rais’d. Thre were also some
proposals concerning one or two of their
young men coming to learn the smith
trade; all which they said they wou’d
take under consideration, & let us know
to morrow, then they were closely expost-
ulated with concerning some jealousies
they had entertain’d occasion’d by some
whisperings of evil minded white
people, who told them the Quakers
had some deep rooted design, to get pos-
session of their lands, for they certainly
would not have been at the pains
great expence they have if they did
not expect some temporal advantage
