those remotely situated is very joyous,
more especially when such love the buth
& are concern’d to support the profession
they are making, which I trust is in
a good degree the situation of a few
friends here, They having been strength
en’d since we were here last fall to hold
meetings twice a week, often more than
30 attending on first days, & half that
number on week days. About 1 oclock
we parted with our kind friends, & set
off for Oneida, Caleb Mucumber, putting
us on our way 9 miles thro’ a country
pretty thick settled, particularly on Mud
Creek
, the waters of which we went down
for several miles. After parting with him
for 6 or more miles we went thro’ good
land unimprov’d to the outlet of Canan-
darque lake
, a smart stream which we
cross’d; here was one or more settlements
