small trial, however they ex-
press’d great satisfaction we
had come over the river, & that
the sight of a solid friend did
them good; it was some trial
to leave them so soon, as there
was a general pressing of us to
have stayed longer, & we had much
love given us in charge, to carry
back to their friends, particular-
ly to such who had visited
them, We spent a little time
at Samuel Taylor’s, he has a
religious good looking wife. then
went to his father John Taylor’s
& paid a short visit, stopped &
drank tea at Joshua Gilham’s
then went to James Crawford’s to
lodge. 22 miles to day.
