Here the Holland company is erect-
ing a grist mill, a Saw mill being
already put up, tho’ there are but
few houses within 20 miles. We have
had a cut road ent ever since we
left Pittsburg to this place, which now
ending we entered the wilderness
without any path; a number of
trees being marked last fall, they
were now to be our guide; It was
a thick wood we had to pass through with
a great quantity of brush and young
