A rainy morning stayed un
der shelter till 8 OClock, and then
crossed the river in the rain; the
said river is one mile and 12 pearches
wide. paid for Man and Horse 6 d a
cheap ferry, thence to York town 12 miles
mostly through a Valley perhaps 18
or more miles wide some beautiful
meadows made their appearance
more particularly within a few
