which friends take in hand for introducing Civiliza-
tion among Indians, for I firmly believe it is good
Spirit with them. we are much comforted for fri-
ends staying here at Oneida, we seen them often, they
have been faithful in promoting the welfare of the
Indians Living on the reservation of the Oneidas. I
find my people are much altered since friends began
to take concern for Indians and helping them.
many of our Men feel the importance of industry, and
following sobriety as friends recommended to them;
I wish I could communicate my thoughts, as I wou
ld have informed thee particulars which are in my
mind, But to conclude with thankfulness
for the kindness we received from Friendsm and
I hope they shall be abundantly rewarded from
the great good Spirit, who promised blessing
to the merciful.
