so possesed may bring and maintain an action for any
tresspass Commited on such posession, by any white
man Indian or any other Person Whomsoever. 5th And be it further Enacted & c.
That it shall and may be Lawful for the Said Peace-
makers to bring actions in their own name for tresspass
as comitted on any of the undivided Lands in New Sto-
ckbridg
aforesaid, and not by them aloted by particu-
lar Persons as aforesaid, before any Court of Justice
having Cognizance of the Same against any white
person Indian, or other Person whomsoever. 6th And be it further enacted by the authority afo-
resaid, that it shall & may be Lawful for the Said
Peacemakers on complaint made to them by any
Indian being an Inhabitant of the Said Town against
any such Inhabitant for any Tresspass, debt, or Dem-
and, the said Peacemakers shall direct the Marshal
to cause the parties to come before them, with their
witnesses, and after having heard them, shall give
Judgment, according to the best of their understand-
ing, and shall advise the parties to comply with
their said Judgment; but in case they or either of
