5th day 17th Cold Sowy morning,
rode 4 miles to Breakfast, very mud-
dy road, from thence to Ononda-
go Hollow
, Lodged at Tilers Inn,
being 35 miles from the Cayuga
Lake
, a little of the way pretty good
other parts extreamly bad settle-
ments but thin.

6th day 18th In the evening
reached Oneida, being 30 miles
the way in places, Hilly, Stony &
very Swampy, Lodged with my
Friends, at our Settlement, in the
Oneida Castle /viz/ Wilm Gregory
his Wife, Hannah Jackson,
Jacob Taylor, and Johnathan
Thomas
; who were glad to see me
and I them, as also were many
of the Indians.
