Cold Spring 8mo 31th 1819 Respected friend

I am now going to write a
little to thee. very warm weather here at
allegany this Summer corn grows very good and
potatoes too and buck wheat and beans and all
kinds of things grows good this Summer
we have not got any School at cornplanters
now I come Some times to School
at Cold Spring I want to learn my book and
understand english well I live great ways off
may be 6 miles distance Some of the indians
dont want to learn book Some of them
want to understand english and learn to read and
write Indians Council now at Cold Spring
because got new Corn to eat not many
