down the Banks of the Allegany

some Miles crossing several fine
Mill Streams, [Oliens, Tumguya, Nsgu & Teusguyowaughtee
which empty into it - about 8 miles our road was pretty
good & about 15 more bad enough-
I think we passed some of the
Deepest & Coughs that we have
had to wade thro' & being only a
foot way, much overhang with
Bushes - very crooked & uneven
& many fallen Logs, made it ex
tremely Difficult & Dangerous - the
Steeps were so great that we could
