perfluous & excessive Clothes, as
also such an abundance of Silver
ornaments about them, which
their forefathers were not ac-
customed to, but I believed,
were glad to get Skins to co-
ver themselves with. at this
some of them Laughed.

I streeniously pressed them to lay
out their Money for such articles
as would be useful to them, not
to spend it for nought.

After a pause, they expressed
great thankfulness for what I had
mentioned to them, and said
they could not say it was not true
for as I had been with them a long while
