In riding along these pastures, I met several
parties of Indians, who, from the quantity of their
baggage, seemed to be pretty wealthy, having
several loaded horses. Thus far I have not met
with the least rudeness or improper behaviour
from these people; though I have several times
passed individuals, as well as large companies of
them, when I have been without a companion,
and might have been an easy prey.
