ferences with some of their Chiefs
we learn, that the Stockbridge
Indians

(who are not of the five
Nations
) consist of about sixty
Families, and 300 Individuals;
The possess 23040 Acres of
excellent Land, which was given
to them by the Oneidas; about
the Close of the American War;
and was confirmed by deed,
containing a Clause baring
against their selling or leasing
to white people: They divide
their Land into 100 Acre Lots;
and every Family has one Lot;
