early next 28th we set out
& rode
through Prairie after Prairie until
the whole County except
some
Small pieces of upland intervening
become Prairies & so cont
thro this days rout
wading thro the mud & not being
able to get
feed for our Horses we rode
near 40 Miles to one Township [?]
where we
found plenty of the
necessaries of Life. the Country
here is very good.
with excellent
Bottom & upland the Prairies we
have passed are
mostly rich but there
is so little timber in many parts that
they can
hardly be enclosed with Fences so
