viously been informed would furnish us with
accommodations.
In the evening the Commandant followed us
to our quarters, discovering marks
of great re-
spect and attention, and appears to be a gentle-
man. He
has urgently pressed us to dine with
him to-morrow, and we have accepted
the invi-
tation.
