7th day 19th Rested with my
kind Friends, and had some
satisfaction in beholding the Indi-
ans Improvement in the Cultivati-
on of the Lands, tho’ I was true-
ly grieved to here that many of
them had given way more & more to
the practice of taking strong
drink to excess.

1st day 20th Sat in meeting
with my Friends to solid satis-
faction.

2nd day 21st I went to visit the
Stockbridg Indians, my good friend
Wilm Gregory, accompanied me
thither, many of whom were glad
to see me, & I them, I had some
