Trench of a Fort, which he told me
was there when Indians first came
there, and that it is supposed to
be done by some National of White
People, near which, we forded the
Genesea River, a rapid stream, of
about six rod wide, most generally
ferry over it. from thence we
rode through a pretty dry & airy
Country, some very good Farms &
some elegant buildings, Lodged at
Asher Sacksons, a public house, they
being no scarcity in this country,
rode 34 miles to day.

3rd day 15th rode to Canadarque
10 miles, to breakfast, which is a
very pleasantly situated Village
containing about one hundred pretty
elegant houses, mostly frame,
