I told him he had a fine Barn, a
good looking place, and meterials
ready for Building his House, and
that I saw no sufficient cause for him to
be discouraged, he said he had been
a hardworking Man, and helped
through many difficulties by the
hand of Providence, but all was
as nothing to him now, we told him
that hand that hand which had hi-
therto helped him, would continue
to help if he did but rely upon, and
put his trust in it, he said he had
strove with all his might but he
could not help his situation, if he
was as he once was, and saw one
of us as he is now, he would have
thought we might have helped it
but we do not know untill we are
tryed. he seemed very sensible of his
situation and possessed of tender feel-
ings, indeed I felt a near sympathy
for him, and my Mind was impressed
with more of a lively sense of human
